1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Kabel ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Kabel is a cloud-based invoicing and quoting platform designed for freelancers, contractors, and small businesses. The Service allows users to create quotes, generate invoices, manage customers, and track payments.

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
  • You must provide a valid email address
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

4. Subscription and Payment

Kabel offers a 30-day free trial. After the trial period, a paid subscription is required to continue using the Service. Subscription fees are billed monthly at the current rate of R119.99 per month.

  • Payment is processed through our secure payment provider
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
  • Prices may change with 30 days' notice

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service. Prohibited activities include:

  • Sending fraudulent invoices or engaging in deceptive practices
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service
  • Uploading malicious code or content
  • Reselling or redistributing the Service without authorization
  • Using the Service to spam or harass others

6. Data and Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Your data is stored securely and we will not share your information with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

Data Ownership

  • You retain ownership of all data you upload to the Service
  • You can export your data at any time from the Settings page
  • Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed within 90 days

Security Measures

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS)
  • Encryption at Rest: Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database with AES-256 encryption at rest
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text
  • Rate Limiting: Login attempts are rate-limited to prevent brute force attacks
  • Security Monitoring: We monitor for suspicious activity including repeated failed login attempts and unusual account access patterns

Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that may affect your personal information:

  • We will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of discovering the breach
  • We will provide details about what information may have been compromised
  • We will outline steps you can take to protect yourself
  • We will report the breach to relevant authorities as required by law

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Kabel and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kabel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
